The KNUST Alumni Association on Friday, 30 January 2026, hosted a powerful evening of recognition, reflection, and renewed commitment at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, as alumni and partners gathered for the Kaptains of Industry Soirée and Awards Night.

An Alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Felix Fiifi Ekuful has earned international recognition after winning a prestigious ASHRAE HVAC&R Student Paper Competition, highlighting KNUST’s continued impact on global engineering research and innovation through the achievements of its alumni on the international stage.

Samuel Obiri Yeboah, B.A. (’22), has been elected President of the National Union of Ghanaian Students (NUGS) UK Chapter.

Mr. Obiri Yeboah, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in International Business Management at Coventry University.

An alumna of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Essabella Adjoa Scott, has been recognised as the Best Ghanaian Student at the University of Aberdeen, after completing a Master’s degree in Data Science.

In the 2000s, radio listeners across Kumasi were often caught off guard by a confident, white-sounding caller who phoned in with disarming politeness and absurdly funny questions.

The character was called Barry Sanders, a fictional persona whose prank calls became a cult hit on local radio.

Dr. (Mrs.) Louisa Ansong Satekla, a dentist and public health advocate, has encouraged university students to see their time on campus as a launchpad for enterprise, urging them to pursue business ideas early while remaining grounded in mentorship and academic discipline.

An alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr Prosper Tachie, Esq., has been elected National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), marking a new chapter in the leadership of Ghana’s largest and oldest teachers’ union.
