KNUST Alumna and Vice-Chancellor Receives National Honour from Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana

Distinguished KNUST alumna and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, has been honoured by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) in recognition of her exceptional leadership and outstanding contributions to pharmacy education and the advancement of the pharmacy profession in Ghana.

The award was presented by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the Society's flagship Pharmacy Education Forum and Gala Night, held at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall at the Manhyia Palace as part of activities commemorating the Society's 90th Anniversary.

A proud product of KNUST, Prof. Dickson has built an inspiring career in academia, research, and university leadership. Her appointment as the University's first female Vice-Chancellor continues to inspire students, alumni, and professionals across Ghana and beyond, reflecting the excellence, resilience, and leadership that KNUST strives to instill in its graduates.

In recognising her achievements, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana commended Prof. Dickson for her visionary leadership and for serving as an outstanding role model to the pharmacy profession, particularly to the next generation of pharmacists.

The event, held under the theme "Futureproofing Pharmacy Through Pharmacy Education," also celebrated the enduring legacy of Prof. Albert Nee Tackie, the first Ghanaian Dean of Ghana's first Faculty of Pharmacy, through a forum established in his honour.
