The Advancement and Alumni Relations Office is proud to celebrate Marian Asantewaa Nkansah as our Alumna of the Month, an accomplished academic, researcher, and administrator whose impact continues to shape both the university community and the broader society.
A distinguished alumna of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof. Nkansah embodies the true spirit of a Teknokrat, combining academic excellence with leadership and service. Her journey from student to professor and now a key figure in university administration reflects the strength of KNUST’s alumni network and its role in nurturing leaders.
Currently serving as the Director of Student Affairs at KNUST, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the student experience, championing student welfare, engagement, and development. In this capacity, she continues to influence policies and initiatives that enhance campus life and support students in achieving both academic and personal success.
Prof. Nkansah is also widely recognised for her contributions to environmental chemistry, with research interests that address critical issues such as environmental pollution, food safety, and public health. Her work has contributed significantly to ongoing conversations around sustainability and environmental protection, both in Ghana and beyond.
Beyond her professional achievements, she remains deeply committed to mentorship and capacity building, inspiring students, especially young women in science, to pursue excellence and break barriers. Her dedication to guiding the next generation reflects a deep sense of responsibility to give back to the institution that helped shape her path.
Her story is one of growth, impact, and purpose, a reminder that KNUST alumni are not only excelling in their fields but are also actively contributing to the development of the University and society at large.
