The KNUST Alumni community is celebrating Prof. Emmanuel Kofi Akowuah, a proud alumnus of the University and Director of the KNUST E-Learning Centre, following his receipt of an ICT Recognition Award at the National ICT Week 2026 Excellence Awards for his Outstanding Contribution to Advancing Digital Skills and Research.
Prof. Akowuah, who graduated from KNUST with a BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering in June 2006, has built an impressive career spanning engineering, academic research, digital education and technology-driven innovation. His professional journey has remained closely connected to the advancement of technology in education, particularly in creating opportunities for students and educators to benefit from emerging digital tools and learning platforms.
In his current role as Director of the KNUST E-Learning Centre, Prof. Akowuah has contributed significantly to the University's digital transformation efforts. Under his leadership, the Centre has strengthened technology-enhanced teaching and learning, expanded online and blended learning opportunities, and supported initiatives aimed at improving the digital competencies of students and staff.
