Mr. Eric Osei, a proud alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. Since then, he has emerged as one of the most influential leaders advancing healthcare transformation across the African continent.
He currently serves as the Managing Director of Sysmex West and Central Africa (SWCA), where he leads strategic initiatives that strengthen diagnostic capacity, expand access to medical technologies, and build sustainable healthcare ecosystems across 20 African countries. His career spans senior leadership roles in multinational life science organizations, where he has consistently championed innovation, high-performance teams, and strategic partnerships that drive measurable improvements in public health.
As a passionate advocate for capacity building, Mr. Osei works closely with Ministries of Health, global development agencies such as the Global Fund, PEPFAR, GIZ, and frontline health institutions to support the strengthening of the Health sector. His efforts have helped increase access to modern diagnostics, empower local talent, and enhance technical expertise within the region’s healthcare workforce.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Mr. Osei’s commitment to the public good is evident in his founding of the MedTech Industry Association of Ghana, an initiative aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure, promoting ethical industry standards, and advancing local supply chain development. Through this platform, he has played a critical role in creating job opportunities, nurturing emerging professionals, and fostering local innovation within Ghana’s growing health technology sector.
As a dedicated member of the KNUST Alumni Association, Mr. Osei remains deeply connected to the university community. He actively supports alumni programs, sponsors initiatives that inspire student excellence, and contributes his expertise to professional development and industry engagement activities. His role as a panelist in the 2025 Global Alumni Homecoming exemplifies his ongoing commitment to elevating the alumni network and giving back to the KNUST community
