Wisdom Gasu is an alumnus of KNUST, where he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1999 to 2003 under the College of Engineering. During his final year, he served as the Vice President of the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA). He was also a resident of University Hall (Katanga) during his time at the University.
Mr. Gasu currently serves as a Safety and Compliance Engineer with British Airways Engineering, where he is responsible for conducting incident investigations, promoting operational safety, and providing assurance that engineering activities comply with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.
Operating in a highly complex aerospace environment, Wisdom’s quality and safety oversight contributes directly to the integrity of aircraft maintenance and the safety of thousands of passengers each day. Through the application and enforcement of stringent global aviation standards, his work focuses on minimizing operational risk, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring the mechanical reliability of the airline’s fleet.
Wisdom Gasu drives social impact by dedicating his time to advancing social mobility and economic opportunity for disadvantaged youth. As a volunteer mentor with The Early Careers Foundation, his work focuses entirely on helping young people from low-income backgrounds break down systemic barriers to career entry. By delivering the foundation’s specialized curriculum, he guides his mentees through developing essential employability skills, building professional confidence, and preparing for long-term career success.
As Vice President of the UK Branch for the Katanga Alumni Association, Wisdom Gasu directly leads diaspora fundraising campaigns to improve infrastructure and student welfare at University Hall (Katanga). He connects Ghanaian professionals across the UK and Europe, leveraging this network to create mentorship pathways that bridge the gap between current KNUST students and global career opportunities.
