Mary Dede Owusu is a proud alumna of KNUST, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies with a minor in English in 2018. During her time at the University, she was a resident of the prestigious Africa Hall and demonstrated exceptional leadership through active service in her department, hall, and faith community. She held several leadership positions, including Course Representative, Secretary of the Political Science Students’ Association (POSSA), Deputy Judicial Chair of POSSA, Deputy Programmes and Projects Coordinator for the SRC Women’s Commissioner’s Office, IHCF Evangelism Secretary, and Vice President of IHCF Africa Hall, among others.
Mary is a Digital Marketing and Communications Professional with expertise in advertising, brand strategy, and social media management. She supports organizations and businesses in strengthening their digital presence, enhancing audience engagement, and developing communication strategies that drive growth and measurable impact. Beyond the private sector, she contributes to public service through strategic communications and youth-focused initiatives.
Through digital marketing and media management, Mary has helped businesses and organizations enhance their visibility, strengthen their brands, and achieve meaningful engagement with their target audiences. Her work combines creativity, strategic thinking, and data-driven communication to deliver impactful results.
Mary is very passionate about youth development, leadership, digital innovation, and community service. She is committed to leveraging her skills and platforms to create opportunities, inspire others, and contribute to national development through professional excellence and impactful volunteerism. She is the Founder of the Audacious Mentorship Programme, an initiative focused on empowering Junior and Senior High School students through mentorship, career guidance, leadership development, and skills training. The programme has positively impacted young people by equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities needed to pursue their aspirations.
Mary remains actively involved in the KNUST Alumni community through mentoring young alumni and students, consistently participating in alumni engagements, and serving as the Interim Secretary of the KNUST Alumni – Ministries Chapter. She is committed to strengthening alumni relations and fostering collaborations that support both graduates and the continued growth of the University.
