Prof. Alfred Sarbah Esq. is a distinguished academic leader and proud alumnus of KNUST. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences in 1997, a Master of Arts in Industrial Management in 2001, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2008, all from KNUST. During his time at the University, he was a resident of the prestigious Unity Hall and demonstrated exceptional leadership by serving as President of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) and as a Member of the University Council and Academic Board from 2000 to 2001.
Prof. Sarbah is an Associate Professor at Kumasi Technical University and Deputy Director of the Institute of Research, Innovation and Development (IRID), where he champions research, innovation, and industry collaboration. He is also a licensed lawyer and Managing Partner of Sarpong & Associates, providing strategic legal counsel. With a Master's in Industrial Management from KNUST, a PhD in Management Science, and a legal background, he brings a distinctive multidisciplinary perspective to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business strategy.
Prof. Sarbah’s professional impact is defined by his ability to operate at the intersection of law, management, and academia, shaping the next generation of industry leaders while providing high-level advisory and legal solutions that drive organizational success across the public and private sectors. His research focuses on areas that directly affect economic development and quality of life in Ghana, including support for small businesses and promotion of good governance. His time at KNUST was marked by academic excellence and deep engagement with the university community, contributing to its vibrant intellectual environment. As former Director of the Institute of Distance Learning and Continuing Education (IDCE) at Kumasi Technical University, he championed the digitalization and expansion of alternative education. His promotion to Associate Professor reflects his significant contributions to academic excellence, curriculum development, and institutional growth.
As a dedicated mentor, Prof. Sarbah bridges academia and industry, drawing on his expertise in law and management to develop future business leaders and entrepreneurs. His social impact spans poverty alleviation, youth mentorship, socio-economic empowerment, consumer advocacy, and the advancement of equitable education, with a strong commitment to promoting sustainable development and improving livelihoods in Ghana.
Prof. Alfred Sarbah is a dedicated member of the KNUST Alumni Association, consistently demonstrating his commitment to the university's long-term growth and governance. He has served on the Alumni Constitutional Review Committee, where he has played a key role in shaping the framework that guides the association's operations and ensures its continued relevance and effectiveness. Further cementing his legacy of service, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the KNUST Alumni Endowment Fund (KAEF) as the Alumni Association's representative. In this critical capacity, he helps steward the association’s endowment, ensuring that alumni contributions are strategically managed to support scholarships, infrastructure development, and other institutional priorities for generations to come. His unwavering dedication reflects his deep-rooted belief in giving back to his alma mater and securing its future.
