Prof. Abiagail Padi is a distinguished academic, researcher, entrepreneur, and development economist. She is a proud alumna of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she obtained her PhD in Business and Management (Entrepreneurship), building a strong foundation in entrepreneurship, innovation, and research that continues to shape her impact.
Prof. Padi currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and is a Professor of Corporate Entrepreneurship and Development Economics. Over the years, she has held several leadership roles within the University and beyond, including Programs Lead for the EU–Ghana Pact for Skills Programme in the Western Region, Manager of the International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship, Director of the Centre for Gender and Advocacy, and Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance.
Professor Padi has made significant professional contributions through teaching, research, consultancy, and mentorship. She has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and secured major grants to support entrepreneurship, gender equality, skills development, and research initiatives. Her expertise has earned her appointments to several national and international bodies, including her current role as an Executive Committee Member of the Ghana National Commission for UNESCO. Her impact on Takoradi Technical University includes curriculum development, institutional leadership, resource mobilization, strengthening industry partnerships, and promoting research and innovation. Through her achievements and service, she continues to exemplify the values of excellence, leadership, innovation, and societal transformation that KNUST seeks to instill in its graduates.
Beyond academia, Prof. Padi is very passionate about community development and youth empowerment. She has championed gender advocacy programmes, supported student scholarship initiatives, mentored young entrepreneurs and academics, and facilitated capacity-building programmes for public and private institutions.
Beyond her academic leadership and community development, Prof. Padi continues to give back to her alma mater through dedicated service to the KNUST Alumni community. She serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the KNUST Alumni Endowment Fund, where she leverages her expertise in entrepreneurship, governance, and development economics to support sustainable fundraising initiatives and strengthen the long-term financial resilience of the Association.
